Purpose of the Church

Let’s first define the concept of Church big “C”.  When the C is capitalized I am referring to the true Church that God has blessed and created for the spread of the Gospel of Christ (Not a denomination). The purpose of the Church is clearly stated in Scripture. Eph 4:12 tells us clearly that the purpose of the church is for the equipping and edification of the saints for every good work.  This healthy Church environment will be both encouraging and will ultimately build up the body of believers toward maturity in the faith.

In short, there are no spectators in the Church. Everyone is to understand their gifts, (1 Cor. 12:4-5, 1 Pet. 4:10, Romans 12:4-6a, Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4) be trained in their giftedness and be encouraged to serve the world by exercising those gifts for the spread of the Gospel and the building of the Kingdom.

A few things the Church is not.  It is not a social club, for entertainment, or pleasure or comfort.
