Training Up The Church in 3 Languages!

20170125_093839Last week was a first for Kim and I.  I had the pleasure of doing a 4 day #NoPlaceLeft training with Agustin Martin in Spanish.  He did a great job and I learned alot.  I was surrounded by believers from Costa Rica, Dallas Texas and Miami.  While we were learning in Spanish there was also an English and Creole track going on simultaineously. What a blessing!  I think this is what heaven will look like when we all are standing before the throne all singing in unison. (Revelation 7:9)

Unfortunately Kim was only able to attend 1 day of the training due to a multi-day migrane. Please continue to pray for her concerning this thorn in the flesh.

We are gearing up for 2017 by preparing to go to South Carolinia, Ohio, Michigan, Oregon and perhaps Pennsylvania.

Our heart and vision is to train the church with simple reproducible ways for disciples to make disciples to the 4th generation and beyond.

20170128_105953Please pray for wisdom as we consider purchasing an RV.  It seems an RV instead of a house would make sense for our minstry and life style.

Ministry Update from the DR

Ministry Update:
Due to Scott being bi-vocational and not being able to work efficiently in the DR, we had to cut our trip short. We’ve enjoyed our time here and the people that we have met have been very sweet. The language barrier was harder than we thought and would take a lot longer to be able to learn, understand and to share the Gospel effectively. There are many things we have learned while being here and some that we were not even expecting. The Lord has continued to sharpen us in areas that we are lacking. Our respect for foreign missionaries has majorly grown and we realize there’s a lot more to moving to another country. It’s an entirely different thing to be able to truly impact it. It would definitely take a lot more time. We will continue to pray and see what doors open for us here. Today we are meeting with some couples from Young Life so you never know??? ūüôā For now we are going to continue our domestic missions and training. And we are so thankful for all of you that have been praying for us as well as supporting us!img_0198

A God-Ordained Meeting in Ohio

Little did we know the trip back to Ohio would be so fruitful.¬† The trip back allowed me to spend some more time with John Carter.¬† John is a faithful follower of Jesus that my mom introduced me to at Posy D’s.¬† John was interested in being trained in 4 fields. At the end of another training he told me a story about a young man age 23 that a few days earlier was getting pulled over by the police for riding his motorcycle without a tag.¬† John ended up putting the young man’s bike on his trailer and taking it home for him. This kept the young man from going to jail.¬† I asked John, where does the young man live?¬† John said, close by…¬† I said, let’s go share the Gospel with him.¬† So we jumped up, traveled across town and knocked on his door.¬† John shared “his Story”¬† and “Jesus’s Story” with him.¬† He did not come to the faith but committed to following up with John to learn more about Jesus.

After spending time with John he invited me to do a 411 training at his church shown below.

John also meets with a group of guys for a Bible study on Tuesday nights.  They are a hungry group that also has interest in learning more about living life on a mission.  John is committed to learning and practicing 4 fields so that he can train the group. The members there represent 9 different churches. The ramifications for the Gospel to the area are profound!  COME ON JESUS!!!

So God has continued to blow our minds by opening doors to train brothers and sisters in easy, reproducible Gospeling tools.

Purpose of the Church

Let’s first define the concept of Church big “C”. ¬†When the C is capitalized I am referring to the true Church that God has blessed and created for the spread of the Gospel of Christ (Not a denomination). The purpose of the Church is clearly stated in Scripture. Eph 4:12 tells us clearly that the purpose of the church is for the equipping and edification of the saints for every good work. ¬†This healthy Church environment will be both encouraging and will ultimately build up the body of believers toward maturity in the faith.

In short, there are no spectators in the Church. Everyone is to understand their gifts, (1 Cor. 12:4-5, 1 Pet. 4:10, Romans 12:4-6a, Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4) be trained in their giftedness and be encouraged to serve the world by exercising those gifts for the spread of the Gospel and the building of the Kingdom.

A few things the Church is not.  It is not a social club, for entertainment, or pleasure or comfort.
